ElShift work patterns define repeating working and rest-day cycles for employees. An anchor date sets day one of the employee's cycle, and optional rotation templates can define which named shift belongs in each working block.
Use an anchor date to place each employee in the cycle
Employees can share the same pattern without sharing the same position in that pattern. The first working day acts as the anchor date that determines the employee's repeating cycle.
Stagger crews intentionally
Giving every employee the same pattern and anchor can synchronize their rest days. ElShift exposes that relationship so managers can intentionally stagger anchors when continuous coverage requires different crews to rest on different dates.
Use rotations as real assignment constraints
When a work pattern includes rotating shift templates, Auto-Assign checks whether the shift being filled matches the employee's expected rotation position.
